Most definitely not a caricature this one, trying to do something different and 'illustrative' I guess. Not sure how it will turn out yet! Pleased with the drawing anyway, drawn into Photoshop but it's all freehand and doesn't look to badly out of proportion anywhere...

I'm thinking of getting some digital art software. what do you reccommend for a new starter, I have a wacom bamboo funtouch edition and not sure if I should go with Corel or Photoshop.

Thanks Karl - I haven't really used Corel Painter, but for a beginner I'd go with Photoshop as I found it a lot more straightforward to use. Painter can do incredible things but you don't need them when learning the basics.
My initial reaction was that his head was a little too big, but I think it's one of those things where what's factually correct doesn't quite look "artistically" correct.
No you're spot on Euan! I've shrunk the head a bit, although it's still a bit bigger than in the photo ref. I'll post an update soon.
That is just an amazing caricature.
