The second comedian in the Skeptic Top Trumps set (Robin Ince was the first one we did - and there are a couple more to come) is the brilliant Dara O'Briain! I saw Dara at last years Cheltenham Science Festival where he brought the house down. And he also studied theoretical physics at university, a subject I love too (although my couple of years of OU book learnin' means I'm a bit behind Dara!)

Had a lot of fun doing this one - The Amaz!ng Randi is a legend really, I saw him talk in London a couple of years ago and he was brilliant. A class act :)
The Skeptic Top Trumps cards are still going, we're around the halfway mark now I think (I hope!) - here's the latest one, the brilliant Lib Dem MP Dr.Evan Harris. He's one good reason to vote Lib Dem and it seems like the public are realising that there are many many more good reasons to do just that. Looking forward to the next TV debate...!
Keep up with the Skeptic Top Trumps on Crispian Jago's blog!

A couple of killer skeptic top trumps here - both big favourites of mine - Christopher Hitchens and Michio Kaku! Awesome.

Thought I'd re-post my Gadget Show team caricature as I spent today in a world of gadge at the Gadget Show Live! at the NEC. Great show, plenty of awesome tech to see and try - 3D TVs (still not sold on that one yet), huge silvery flying super-penguins of the future (amazing) and a great live performance from Jas, Suz, Ortis and John. Top stuff guys, thanks!
The highlight for me though was seeing the second ever computer I owned (first was a ZX81) in the Hall of Fame section - an Amstrad CPC464 home computer with an integrated tape deck! Ah the nostalgia nearly brought a tear to my eye. Nearly.

Here's the latest Skeptic Top Trump card - the wonderful Ariane Sherine, inventor of the brilliant atheist bus campaign. Ariane's blog is here: http://arianesherine.blogspot.com/

I'm putting a few pictures together to go into an exhibition in Edinburgh in a couple of months (I'll post details of it nearer the time) and I really wanted to use the Sherlock Holmes/Robert Downey Jr. I did for Jason Seiler's Schoolism course last year. It had a lot of empty space in it, so I decided to fill it with Dr.Watson/Jude Law - initially I was thinking of having him stood next to Holmes, but it didn't look right so I went with him being seated as well. I think it works ok, hopefully it'll look really cool printed.

Another skeptic top trump card, this one is one of my favourite comedians (more of them to come too, so stay tuned) - Robin Ince. A cross between a stand up comedian and a frazzled slightly mad science teacher (in a good way). He's got a book coming out later in the year so look out for it. I also did another caricature of him which he used to promote his last show "Robin Ince vs The Moral Majority":

Here's the chappie who got me interested in caricature in the first place (several years ago now, how time flies). It's in no small part to his interest and advice that I'm doing what I'm doing now. Oh and he does some magic stuff on telly apparently.
Check of this card and the growing collection of Skeptic Top Trumps at Crispian Jago' blog Science, Reason and Critical Thinking.

Here are the first two cards in a set of Skeptic Top Trumps - cards designed by skeptic blogger Crispian Jago with caricatures by me. How cool do they look!
Crispian's rather sensational blog is here - he'll be posting new cards every couple of days or so. I'll post a few of my favs also as we go. In total there will be around 60 cards so keep checking in!

Had an idea to do a pic with these three recently - I'd done Ahmadinejad a while ago, but not the other two. The plan changed a lot as I was painting the faces, finally the idea of staging them at an evil rip-off of Comic Con came to me and I think it works ok. Changed the expression on Bin Laden from the pic I posted the other day to give him a more exasperated 'what the hell am I doing here' look. Kim Jong Il is clearly loving it, whereas Ahmadinejad is in a world of his own... :)
