Gwen Stefani / No Doubt

Always been a fan of Gwen Stefani, more for her No Doubt stuff than her solo work so I've drawn her from a mix of some photos of her on stage with the group. Again I was really pushing the exaggerations here, I wanted to focus on her ridiculously toned stomach and make that the focus. Might get a canvas for this and paint it HUGE!

Just a quick sketch, trying to push my exaggerations a bit further with this idea. Hopefully it'll work and I'll do a painting of it soon.

Finished! I bet you guessed what the extra element was going to be, right? Really pleased with how this turned out!

Still working on this, the plan is for something else to be added to make it really cool, hopefully it'll work!

Dem Bones dem Bones

Going to take my Bones sketch to a finished digital painting, haven't done an all-out top notch digital piece for a while. Hopefully I haven't forgotten how :)

I like the atmosphere of this and I hope I can keep that as I paint it. Plus there's an extra element planned which should make it a bit more interesting... stay tuned!

Looks AWFUL but hopefully it'll come out ok like the Angie painting did. Still not sure what finish I'm trying to achieve but it's all good fun anyway :)

Painting Mr.Blonde

Doing a commission on the computer today, but also spending a bit of time on this. Not that I have any clue what I'm doing, I'm just making it up as a go along. Could well be a complete disaster, but you'll see it if it is! I washed the whole canvas (30" square) over with an orangey-brown colour, then redrew the main bits of the sketch with charcoal, which I then fixed with fixing spray. Now I'm kind of blocking in shapes very very loosely. After that - who knows? :)

Continuing with the occasional theme of 'movie nutters' that I still think is a top idea for an exhibiton, here's a sketch of Mr.Blonde from Reservoir Dogs. Probably the next acrylic painting as I have a nice square canvas to fill with something :)

Painting again...

Painting my Angelina Jolie (or 'Fox' from the movie Wanted) on canvas now, looked a god-awful mess initially but it's getting better... still a mess though. My painting technique need overhauling I think ;)
