Gwen Stefani / No Doubt painting finished

All done. Could probably do more on the detail front but I don't want to overdo it and get it all muddy. It's acrylic on canvas, 1m wide x 1.2m high. I'll varnish it tomorrow and the colours will pop a bit more I think.

Glad it's out of the way, now I want to find someone new to paint on a smaller scale in oils to see how that works...:)

Love it man, but think it would gain more energy and vibrance if you replace the background color for like a bright violet it would give more contrast with the white clothes and enhance the whole piece you can try it on photoshop. Just my 2cents.

Thanks Nelson, you're probably right - went with a muted background to make her skintone pop, but the white clothing does suffer a bit...

i have tried it in photoshop and a blue ultramarine was the best one!

I like the background Neil, it really makes her stand out. You could increase the contrast in values around her hair and on her right hand, just to make those parts stand out as much as the rest of her body. Also I feel it could do with some more rendering all over.

Looking great though!
