Yet another Joker :)

This is part of a Joker painting I've been thinking about for a few months now and not got round to actually finishing (or starting rather, as I have a big canvas waiting for brush and paint to be applied!). The full pic is much wider - cinemascope style. But I like this extreme close up more so I might paint it instead.

I went back to this and ditched the complicated background for a more painterly, old-fashioned oil portrait look which I think works better as it focuses you on the figure. Spent a long time on details here, I could carry on and on but I must quit at some point! I'm wondering if my wife will let me have a nice big metre-high print of this in the house...:P

I'm loving this, really happy with it - a rare thing! Had excellent reference pics, that's 95% of it, but I'm very pleased with the painting and the details in this. Chuff-ed.

Heroes, Pt 1

I'm working on a group picture of characters from the TV series Heroes. This is Peter Petrelli, which will become part of the main painting - I'll post others on the way to the final thing.
