Finished off the Million Dollar Baby picture (Clint Eastwood and Hillary Swank) in Photoshop in the end, tried a lot of different background ideas - not sure if this works or not! It has a nice feel about it I think.
Very sad that this great author has died. Still, 90 is a pretty good innings as they say. His books had a huge influence on me, in particular Childhood's End, A Fall of Moondust (an absolutely excellent 'disaster' thriller) and of course the amazing Rendezvous with Rama and 2001: A Space Odyssey (and their raft of sequels). An amazing man and a great loss.
This was fun. Not sure whether to take it to a finished state digitally or do an acrylic painting of it. Wonder if the wife will mind having pictures of a semi-naked Jessica Alba hanging about the house...? Hmm. :)
...it really deepens colours, blacks especially, and has brought this painting back from the brink. Still kind of not happy with it, but it's got the right mood I think.
Still painting this, it looks much better in photos than in real life oddly! Finding this one difficult because I'm not really sure what I'm doing... nearly finished though. Will look much better when varnished, that's for sure.
Always liked Cate Blanchett especially in Elizabeth. Watched the sequel (The Golden Age) the other day, not so impressed with that but she was as brilliant as ever. This is another digital sketch, not sure where I'll go with it yet.
Working on the Robert Downey Jr./Iron Man painting now - metal is a b@*~#! to paint and I'm not sure it's going all that well... here's the progress pics:
Oh and while I think of it, here's a link to the latest trailer for the movie - which looks to be literally made of awesome. Iron Man and The Dark Knight - looking like two great (non)superhero flicks! Compare and contrast... ;)
