Digital painting, I think I got a decent likeness with this attempt. I think the candle idea is slightly corny but compositionally I think it works ok.
Hey Neil, Just started my blog and added your link almost immediately. Like your technique and style very much. Her face is great, but i'm not sure about the candle though. Don't you feel it's distracting?
Thanks guys, yes diamonds would have worked also, I chose the candle though because of the 'Candle in the Wind' song about her, and it suggests the frailty of the person which fit with the expression I felt. I don't find it distracting, it adds something extra in my opinion. Still think it's a bit corny maybe :)
