Still working on it - after correcting a problem I stepped back and looked at the original sketch which is after all what I wanted to transfer to this larger format - and I could see a lot of areas that had drifted away from what I wanted. I've made a lot of small changes to the face to drag it back...

Neil,
This one is much darker and the character looks more "disturbed," which I gather is the look you're going for, correct? Quite different from the 'Tim Burton-ish' feel I got from the one you posted on Jan 18.
It's looking good, but isn't it eery to look at it day in and day out? :-) Just wondering...
Hi Linda,
It's not really a problem as I decided a while ago I was painting the character, not the actor. I almost always choose subjects that I enjoy or respect in some way and in this case I was drawn to the amazing depiction of the character. I'm not sure I've actually seen a single Heath Ledger film.
I'm sure if it was the other way around it would be slightly odd!
And yes the 'stone-cold-pycho' look is what I want - this guy is leagues away from Burton's version. Can't wait to see the film now.
Looks cool bro! Just wanted to let you know you're in my links . . . I thought I had already had you in there . . . ? Anyways, you're there now, I dig your stuff man!
Jason thanks, I really appreciate that, you know your work is a huge inspiration to me. Cheers dude :)
